  1. Tibor has evolved into Father-figure character type. So precious

  2. I guess this answers the question of schooling on Lavarel. None, you farm beets and dodge bullets. That or Scarlet’s “not in enrollment.” She’s got reason for a gap year, anyway. So, when does Tibbles get around to teaching her poker, lockpicking, and the best way to open a window from the outside? 🙂

    1. There probably are some schools in cities AND there are actual schoolbooks, but seems that responsibility of schooling farm children falls on their parents. That doesn’t mean they are not expected to learn – maybe Scarlet has some yearly exams.

I suspect Tibor is bad at lockpicking and opening windows from outside. Poker face, maybe, although I don’t think his bluff was THAT good, and I suspect he don’t play well.

  3. The way she phrases that makes me wonder if she thinks that SHE is the tutor and she’s teaching Tibor.

  4. Forget the machine; can she just stay a child for the whole comic? This is adorable!

  5. Tibor seems younger in this comic. Maybe it’s the responsibility, maybe it is the change of scene and the fresh start at life taking care of someone else. But whatever it is, he seems quite a bit younger here. Happier, too.

    1. He’s found a purpose in life, that’s changed him and made him happier. Taking care of Scarlet and raising her is clearly bringing him a great deal of joy. Before he basically had no real solid goal or purpose and was flailing around.

  6. “Will you help me study grammar? Yay!”

Now I KNOW we’re reading a fantasy comic!
