  1. Hopefully it’s not a mess of bureaucrats looking for a topic to camp on. Crops don’t do well when there’s a parasitic infestation. Even if it is a group of people worried about famine, that won’t stop “ration supply co-ordinators” and exchequers “impounding or taxing” other people’s crops. Looks like it’s time for Scarlet to return to her beet-harvesting roots.
Now how for Scarlet to join an agricultural mission to the Grondian border, if not Grodian-taken lands itself?

  2. That “hmmm…” could mean new problems for the guardians of public peace and order in Kirkiok! 😎

  3. That sounds suspiciously like the government wants to outright take or at last increase control of food supply and distribution. Possibly a food stamp system and some kind of scheme to encourage citizens to grow food as a side job. Probably not something tevolutionary like researching ways to increase yield or productivity.

  4. Oh boy. Government regulating the distribution of food. I have never heard of a time in history when that has gone wrong. Other than, you know, every single time.

    1. It worked for the UK in WWII, and people would have starved without it.

      1. Yes, They had actual nutritionists working on setting the rations, and some things didn’t get rationed until AFTER the war. It stopped the rich hogging the food supplies, and encouraged extra production. Didn’t entirely stop the black market of course.

  5. It wouldn’t be a semicompetent bureaucratic pretense of a solution without an awkwardly flatulent acronym nobody will ever actually remember.

    1. A-ee-pif. I wonder if there’s a german take on the name?
