- Tibor: Oh sweet Viola, at long last I can propose to you!
- Tibor: Oh, there she is!
- Sign: Carpentry โ Elwin Redar
- Tibor: Hello, Viola!
- Viola: Hello... Tibor.
- Tibor: Is it just me, or do you look particularly lovely today?
- Viola: The difference two hours of grooming can make...
- Tibor: Would you like to go to the Fat Cauldron with me this evening? Iโll pay!
- Viola: You want to take me out to dinner? That's a new one! Thanks, but--

Let’s play a game! Guess what she’s gonna say next! My guess is: “Thanks, but Marik already asked me to dinner.” (gasp! How could he?!) ๐ ๐ ๐

We don’t know if she’s the one who underwent 2 hours of grooming, or if she was thinking out loud that that was how long it took Tibor to get his raggedy self back up to ‘normal’, ๐
That “but-” at the end there, like she’s already gotten plans with someone. The “…Tibor.” like she has to take a moment to remember his name. How many panels will it take Next Time for her to rip his heart in two?
Still, that’s a lot of curls and bangs on Viola.
So they have overhead lighting, indoor plumbing, but the drywall or wall plaster is terrible. Maybe all those coins Tibor stole is eating the matter from his apartment.

I don’t think Malik would be dating Viola, Novil explained that female fox and male wolf are extremely rare on Lavarel (this is not impossible but still unlikely). But she could be dating someone else (after all, if she is a rich –maybe not super rich but she is not in need from what we see– unmarried young lady, she might have various propositions).
Or maybe going to a formal event, party or ball.
If you really want some “Malik” in there, you can always imagine that Malik is throwing a ball tonight and she is invited. ๐
She seems to know that Tibor was broke, since she is surprised that he is proposing to pay. I wonder how much she know of his real situation…

There’s a lot to this page and I’d say that this is the second best one after the first Marik strip.
To start with, this seems to take place shortly after the former page. If this is true, Tibor is being a douche towards Viola. Imagine you chain smoke and then quit. You can easily get lung cancer a month or two or even longer after you quit. The risks don’t disappear the instant you quit, but the longer you go without your previous habit biting you, the less likely it becomes that it will. Committing crimes works the same way. The longer Tibor waits after his crime, the less likely it is that it will come back and bite him. By proposing to Viola this shortly after his crime, he intends to drag her into a danger she’s presumable unaware of.
Tibor has an awful house, but is wearing nice clothes. This may imply mismanagement of money. It’s not entirely sure so because the truth is that wearing good looking clothes does give you advantages and once you have food and shelter, good looking clothes can be the right third priority for a person capable to take advantage of it. That said, he intends to propose despite living like this. If Viola were to accept, would he be able to provide something better for both of them? What’s his plan?
He seems really happy despite having screwed a family over. His robbery can be explained as an act of desperation, but not his lack of conscience. Combined with him intending to propose to Viola shortly after committing a crime, he’s a major douchebag.
The meaning of Viola’s grooming comment is very ambiguous. She could be referring to her grooming or Tibor’s grooming.
Speaking of Viola, she doesn’t seem to be particularly bother by Tibor’s presence, but she doesn’t seem happy about it either. She is consistently unenthusiastic about Tibor, but he proceeds to compliment her and then to ask her out. Is he unable to read other people, unless they threaten him that is? Combined with previous strips, he’s coming of as an idiot and a major Mr. poor decision making.
It seems Viola will reject him and boy is it the right call. Tibor is as of now not a man who has nothing to offer a woman, what he has to offer a woman is of a negative value!

Wonder if Viola, shall we say, works nights, and Tibor is blissfully[sic] unaware that he’s not her only “customer”?

Oh my, another greeneyed, curly, fiery redhead – whatever significance this has in a โfoxโ context.
And, Thibor, beware, Viola is window shopping furniture, so there might be a nest being built.
