- Princess Elodie (Scarlet): Mr. Dragon, there’s only a rock wall behind the rubble. I think you were mistaken.
- Athamas (Scarlet): No, there’s a secret passageway!
- Princess Elodie (Scarlet): A secret passageway?
- Athamas (Scarlet): Yes! But I don’t know how the secret mechanism works. You have to find it out yourself.
- Princess Elodie (Scarlet): A secret passageway?! That’s so exciting!
- Princess Elodie (Scarlet): Maybe if I push here…
- Scarlet: … What?!

That gun she was wearing on cover?

… “end”? 😉
*if* there is one, there’s bound to be a *door(way)*, of course, because otherwise, what purpose would that end serve …

What?!
That was an unexpected turn. Well played!

What? Well that makes no sense. Does the scattered settlements have a history of Prohibition rum-running? A cultural love of secret passages by the Bunny People? Certain rooms used for x-rated purposes above Scarlet’s age rating, I assume just wouldn’t appear in the story. There’s no reason for a cave to be there. If there was, it would have been incorporated into the building’s structure. For it to be concealed means that somebody was up to something illegal. It was the first stone she pressed. It’s not even a puzzle. If it was that easy to trigger, then why didn’t the adults find it before when putting planks haphazardly in the alcove? I hope the Ominous Glow that was left running is cheap. Sacrificial Temples need mopping, too.
Will Scarlet find Zorro’s cave and become Batman “I’m getting a bigger room!”, or become the pirate queen of beets?

It IS sorta puzzle – it’s not random stone, it’s specifically stone looking different from others, which means it’s easy to find but only if you look for it.
And it’s definitely interesting. Note that it’s POWERED. I mean, it doesn’t look like she pushed that button with enough force to make the wall move so quickly even if it would be on wheels. It even does “WHOOOSH” instead of, like, “creak” or something.
That actually looks like too much work for prohibition rum running. It looks like being done by professional. So, either actual criminal gang, something war-related or some kind of laboratory.

I just think that the door was too easy to open. It’s a secret passageway, but it’s unlocked.
At this point I wouldn’t be surprised to find that Scarlet’s family is actual squatters at a deceased (random person? someone’s old relation?) house. At least they’re working for a living. Scarlet finding her own arsenal built to fight the Lizard Men from Sirius, sounds like a fun way to scare Tibor. And the constabulary. And the military. And maybe the Space Patrol..
Sekhmet
Maybe not squatting, but it is possible that one of Scarlet’s ancestors did. And they passed the house to their son/daugther and so on, and at some point, everybody forgot that great-great-blah-grandma and grandpa found this abandoned house, fixed it and made it their own. And that the basement of this house is waaaay older than they think.
Sekhmet
OK.
We know this is an old world, with forgotten artifacts from the “Ancient Times”.
We also know that such artifacts are quite common, since they found an old plate in the fields. And there are old artifacts around their house.
Could their house be old enough to be from the Ancient Times? At least the basement? What could this house have been before? It could be a tunnel or just another cave with interesting old stuff, maybe at least something that they can sell…
Or maybe it is an old hidden arsenal from the wars? And there are… weapons?
HKMaly
Can’t be THAT ancient. The mechanism is still working. And it’s POWERED. I mean, it doesn’t look like she pushed that button with enough force to make the wall move so quickly even if it would be on wheels. It even does “WHOOOSH” instead of, like, “creak” or something.
… that “arsenal from wars” idea isn’t that bad.
Fred
That’s one contrived way to cover the cesspit
