@ Landbark
Interesting but if you read what I wrote you’ll see my logic is quite sound on how these things work.
@ Gap343:
That’s like saying “If you look at my comment again you’ll see that I’m right and you’re wrong.”
@ john willow:
Well, last time he tried it he was publicly executed.

I jelly BFly ?
The education system in my state failed me. We’ve never read any novel of Goethe’s. Instead I had to endure Fontane, Wolf and Musil (ordered in decreasing enjoyability). I did have fun reading Büchner and Schiller, though.
When you meet your god, would you first check that you are still alive?
Nice arc, thanks.
Butterfly: [ Getting over her totally stunned state ] Oh my God!
Seeoahtlahmakaskay: Yes?
Butterfly: [ Back to totally stunned state ]
Butterfly: So, is Woo your prophet?
Seeoahtlahmakaskay: Not really, but I do like talking with him some times. If I want to tell you something, I will just let you know.
@ Garrett Williams:
Sorry to burst your bubble but Butterfly did not know Woo and Lily at first. In 540, she practically shrieked at the sight of those two and showed no other reaction until the very next strip, where they introduce themselves. Plus time travel is silly.
@ Digolgrin:
To quote my final guess:
Butterfly was likely born after Woo was put into a small cage(before being rescued by Sandra’s dad), so it’s entirely plausible that he could have a lot of siblings he hasn’t seen. Even if she’s older(she looks younger, to me) it’s hard to say if Woo would recognize a sister he only knew as a kit.
My other guesses were unlikely and I discredited both in the same comment, so the quoted part above is the only part I actually believe to be possible. I’m hoping that Novil surprises us with something even less expected, though.
OMG …………………………….. Be welcomed by a goddess : what a reward
Nice, Butterfly!
@ Landbark:
I’m not saying that the “genes were set”, or that “destiny was written”. I’m just talking about someone showing up at the climax of your greatest accomplishment and saying
“Heeey, congratulations to me too!”.
I for one, would be inclined to respond
“Yeah, thanks for showing up and all, and not wanting to disrespect your sacredness… but you’re being kind of a jerk. Seriously.”
But then again, maybe I’m just the overreacting type… 😉
@ john willow:
Try talking to humans and you’ll find out <_<

@ Vrash:
I dunno, I think people may be reading a bit too far into this. To me, it doesn’t seem like Seeoahtlahmakaskay is trying to horn in on the credit because she set up Butterfly’s parents; rather, it seems more like she’s saying “I always knew you had great potential, and I was right!”.
As for the “hard work paying off” remark, I think this is meant to refer to both Seeo’s AND Butterfly’s hard work. Notice how Seeo is raising Butterfly’s paw in victory, while in the background we see the huge audience cheering for Butterfly. This scene sort of reminds me of a boxing manager raising his prize fighter’s glove after he just won the championship match; sure, the manager deserves a small part of the credit for the victory (since he trained the boxer), but MOST of the credit belongs to the boxer himself, and everyone knows it.
At least, that’s my two cents. 😉
For some reason, I can only get half of the comic to load.
@ MegaJar:
I couldn’t make up my mind about it, that’s why I asked for other people’s cents. =D
Nice to see that it wasn’t just me that was seeing the glass half empty, but also that there is people who saw the glass half full (or completely full, for that matter).
See, I want Butterfly to see the glass completely full, even if I have my reservations. =)
@ Landbark:
Oh, and amen Brother. I think. Brother here. XD
@ Landbark:
Why does knowing the outcome change free will. Have you ever read The Count of Monte Christo? In his revenge he planned everything and knew the outcomes that would happen. (To his knowledge like any planner) Does that mean the people he was munipulating losing their free will or does knowing the outcome only matter if your not the one caysing it. Do we lose our free will as people following laws. Do laws inherintly take free will away? Do mathematicians that tell probability of something happening constraining the object take away that objects free will?.
@ Jason:
Me too!
@ Landbark:
I know thats why questoining what you do is important and being different from the crowd is improant. I feel the only thing that free will does is change life. So if what you do doesn’t matter then were was your free will. I feel thats why they say listening to god is true free will since your choose to listen most likely will change generations to come. In another discussion (unfortunately not documented) a few friends and I were conversing on how being remembered makes you immortal because it is proof that you existed and therefore your existance is made immortal.

No, we don’t. So gods are more powerful than mortals? So what? Why should a god forcing a man to do something be any different, fundamentally speaking, than a man forcing another man to do something?
