I have posted the first batch of submissions I received for this year’s artwork contest!
What’s life without a controversial story arc every now and then?
Of course this touchy subject will be handled in a mature and thoughtful manner serve as the source for lots of immature jokes.
If you need even more to discuss, here’s a spoiler for this story arc: Goldman Sachs, the Wall Street bank, becomes involved in some way… I’m sure you didn’t expect that. 😉
- Text message: For your birthday, a pic of me in my birthday suit. LYL, Larisa
- Caption: Send to all
- Caption: Send to Landon
- Larisa: Oopsie.

Actually, it would probably be closer to six or seven. Which will then make the rounds of the sites dealing in such things.
As a sixth grade teacher for many years I can only shake my head at Larissa. Guys, she’s not alone in this. The girls at that age are already (as is Larissa) heavily into smooches while the boys are still playing with trucks in the dirt. It happens a lot more often than you might wish/believe/dream of. And minors prosecuted for distributing child pornography tends strongly to be a Southern small town thing.
I had to count before posting – I follow seven webcomics regularly. And Sandra and Woo is the only one I can never know what to expect.
Congratulations, thanks for the surprises and never change 😀
I know the characters of Sandra and Woo do age in this series but at the risk of sounding like a party-pooper, how old is Larisa in this strip?
@ AshKetchup:
I don’t think age has ever stopped kids from sharing nude photos.

(In Africa she would be considered adult and married) But I suppose the angle of the picture should be relatively decent anyway. Larisa is an artist. She would never send first picture unless it was exactly what she wanted.
I once made a session of artistic nudes with a girlfriend who loved posing for photos and that angle doesn’t really show a lot. It’s more artistic than porno. Anyway, you wouldn’t see anything (interesting) from the waist down and you would have to be lucky to actually see nipples. Given Larissa’s age, she wouldn’t have a lot to show from the waist up, anyway.
Another aspect is, Larissa probably did it on purpose (it fits in her personality).
And this is why sexting is a bad idea: Once it’s out there, you can’t control or recall it.
@ furubatsu:
We probably need an update on their age at this point. I think they were around 10 when the comic started, but the characters get drawn a little older every few strips. A big kudos to Novil, btw.
@ Barbosabyte:
I was thinking the same thing. The angle is in such a way that its perfectly possible to only show cleavage and skin, but nothing else.
Urk!
On Larrissa… That’s a bad oopsie.
Landon’s head was going to explode, now with it being in front of everyone… On dear.
The joke is going to be all on us cause it’ll be revealed (so to speak) there was nothing more than what we saw. What she typed to Landon was just to tease him into letting his imagination run wild while the pic itself was fairly tame.
And we’re all here debating stuff like this. Next strip Larrisa’s going to point/laughing at all of us.
Let’s just hope that that pic is only where Larissa’s friends are and not in the real world
well rule 34 artist are going to have a field day with this one
relay oops like oh no and why is that a boton at all

perhaps a few other classmates, parents of close friends,
and perhaps an online friend or two.
Best case scenario
she may find herself grounded in the near future
worst case
she gets in trouble with police for underage content
unless she can intercept all those phones before anyone sees the photo.

Not in the office I was in a few years back.
Someone who wasn’t paying attention one day hit “Reply to All” on an E-Mail that had been sent to the Entire Agency. Well over 10,000 names on that list.
The E-Mail servers took over 36 Hours to catch up with the backlog That created.
Partially because a couple Thousand of the people who Received that reply then sent the Original person an E-Mail complaining about him/her using the “Reply To All” function and, without Thinking, they Also hit “Reply to All”.
Unfortunately, there was no good way to Cancel all those deliveries without crashing the entire E-Mail server or, conversely, Canceling All the messages caught up in the traffic jam.
Some of those replies kept popping up again as much as 2 weeks later because of people who had been Out OF the Office. When they returned…
So ends the story about how Larissa got every character in the whole webcomic arrested for child pornography.
Pretty sure that counts as child pornography in America. She could be arrested!
Oops is right! I do wonder who “all” is though, like some of the previous comments. Maybe this will send Landon into beast mode being jealous of all the whoops and hollars from the pic.
@ Mr. Random:
Ehhh, Late-Middleschool to Highschool age. Roughly.
@ Paeris Kiran:
There are lots of countries in Africa, with varying marriage laws. You might want to be more specific if you want to avoid rubbing someone the wrong way.
Those things need a frigging “Are you sure about that? Does EVERYONE need to see this message?” confirmation button. Or just space them further apart.
We know Larisa is about 13. In an earlier comic she said that she was 12 years and 11 months old. I don’t know how much in-universe time has gone by, but it was over a year ago for us.
[0605] Teenage Pregnancy, 2014-08-07
Of course, that was sort of a one-off comic, and could have used artistic license to show the Larisa panel even if it would be in the future.
@ AshKetchup:
It is and she could seriously end up getting herself and a whole bunch of people in deep trouble….I’m talking the kind that gets you put on registries and juvenile detention for distribution of illicit child porn. Both her and the people who have it on their hardware can end up doing serious time in several states and provinces.
So that’s’ why Jared Fogle is in trouble.
Coolclaytony wrote:
there are lot of countries in africa where any state rules effectivel apply only to a capital city. And everywhere around people just do not care one bit about any “laws” (just clan/village rules) and definitely not about any kind of national borders.
I’m going to go with the people who have suggested that Larisa is actually wearing a strapless, sleeveless swimsuit in the picture she took. That’s why she doesn’t look so bothered.
Let’s see…
Any number of people in Larisa’s contact list will gleefully report this incident, because they’ve been raised to enjoy watching other people get into trouble; there will be no shortage of people willing to throw her under the bus just for the “I’m a better person than her, SEE!” ego return.
The police will immediately get involved, consider their options, and choose the most heavy-handed and least effective way to create a problem only they can solve: Charge Larisa with the creation and distribution of child pornography, as an adult. The laws supposedly pushed into existence to protect children (not that they ever were, but nothing earns votes like a battlecry of “FOR THE CHILDREN!”) will be used to harm this particular child, just like they do almost every other child whose path they cross, in one way or another.
And, if some strange (and RARE) person cries out that “you can’t put a 12-13(?) year old in a maximum security prison” (someone within the justice system, that is; anyone outside will be ignored) the police will next look to the closest adult male who must have been Larisa’s “Pimp” and forced her into doing this, because young women whom the law says are “children” aren’t capable of making any decisions or choices by themselves; there must always be an evil man manipulating them into it. Larisa’s Dad is going to jail, as a child pornographer/pimp. Everything Larisa says about the accusations against him being false and ridiculous will be ignored completely, “victims often don’t think of themselves as victims” she has been brainwashed by him to believe there’s no harm in it, etc.
Child abusers are not popular in prison, filled with very violent wanna-be heros. He’ll be buggered to death or murdered within the first two months.
Larisa will never recover emotionally from the horrible things that the “Justice System” did to “protect” her.
Accidentally sending a nude photo of herself to most of the people she knows? That she could have gotten over. The completely unnecessary “rescue” is what will destroy her entire life.
But that’s reality, and very un-funny. I doubt S&W is going to do more than lightly brush the fringes of modern realism in this arc. For one thing, I doubt they want to write Larisa and her whole family out of the strip entirely, or end the strip, particularly on such a depressing note..

Only 100-150 years ago, she would have been considered of marriageable age anywhere in the world, even right in the same town she lives in now.
People think there’s something magical about the number 18, just because someone wrote it down on a piece of paper.
@ Hinoron:
in Vatican it used 12… but they recently raised it to 14… I guess they want to held themselved to mr. Berlusconi´s italian standard…
spain has 13.
(there is 15 in my country… buut with having few videos of girls masturbating in school doing brakes leaked… now she does porn acting… probably a dream job at casting when in 18 she can already fill in 3 years of experience…)
this battle is uterly pointless.
molestation would be better of considered individually acording to mental state of the “molested”
@ Isaac:
Sadly I found out I was not one of them *sighs*
As for the Size Discrepancy Issue, it is mostly her posture. In the second panel, her torso is vertical like |, but in the first panel she is in a more dynamic position so her torso is leaning slightly \ this way.
@ Tomana:
Wut
Keep in mind, everyone, that most of us are reading this from the perspective of Americans: highly reactionary, especially in the field of sexuality, based on puritanical values that still have the ‘moral majority’ throw a childish hissy-fit at the idea of ‘the gay’ being allowed to continue to exist, let alone get married, all while blithely ignoring that the only reason that the ‘Virgin” (direct translation: maiden) Mary was not already wed off and bearing children is because she was, at oldest, exactly the same age Larissa is now, and must have only shortly before the New Testament come of the ‘magic number’ age of 14, just as 18 is the ‘magic number’ now.
Sure, any father has the right to do the best he can to protect his daughter from outside ‘threats’, but once she takes that step out on own: pfft, the hell he’s gonna do to control a teenager?? Do that creepy “Purity Ball” thing that’s the rage in said puritanical societies? http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/06/11/purity-ball-father-daughter-christianity-pledge-virginity-marriage_n_5484341.html
Well…shit
Hey, look at it this way: Larissa has just achieved every artist’s dream of immortality. This selfie will be somewhere on the internet for all eternity. 🙂
Larissa also has the advantage of being rather eccentric. Most of the people on her list will think she’s just being Larissa and doing some bit of performance art, shrug, and move on with life.
@ Jerry:
And with that:
Anyone here ever actually needed and used the “Send to All” button? Intentionally?
@ dunerat:
;0)
I didn’t get it…
@ Novil:
I just want to know who’s in her contacts.
xD
Her Dad?, Landon’s parents? Sandra most definitely, and Cloud.
What if someone else had a birthday on the same day and it was in her contacts?
MWAHAHAHA
Really though, why?

I got Lost a contract using “Reply All” once.
It was Policy to use “Reply All” when replying to work related e-mails so that the entire team would be “Up to Date” on all discussions.
Then, one late evening, I got a message from one of the managers instructing me to install and test a program module Immediately. Top Priority.
Except that, when I looked, the Module he was asking for Did Not Exist.
So, I sent back a reply telling him so.
The next morning, the manager I actually Worked for told me the bad news:
My contract was bing terminated. He told me that the manager who sent out the “Top Priority” message the night before was Furious.
Quote: “He Made ME Look Like An Idiot.”
It actually turned out to be Good for me, though.
A couple weeks later, I got a Better Job offer and relocated from Maryland to Florida.
Taxes in Florida are Much Lower than in Maryland.
And, the Weather ain’t bad, either.
.
This makes me uncomfortable. How old are these kids?
She doesn’t seem all that distressed about her ‘mistake’. Larisa has shown a repeated and blatant lack of regard for other’s feelings, to the point I would assume she’s borderline sociopathic. I think she did it intentionally.
One more reason I’m glad I use a phone so old it doesn’t have picture messaging…
As others have posted in some countries that kind of “ooops” causes the government
to spazz out and start arresting people… -_-
