A Sky Full of Stars 004

  • Levon Goldwood: We’ve received the necessary documents from the Ministry of the Interior.
  • Tibor: Finally!
  • Scarlet: Do we really have to move to Samaris?
  • Tibor: Yes. There are many people in Tatsos who have a bone to pick with me. That wouldn’t be a good basis for a fresh start.
  • Tibor: Besides, there’s a lot of construction going on in Samaris. I’m sure I’ll find work there.
  • Scarlet: But Samaris is so far away from Milik!
  • Tibor: At the moment, we can’t return to Milik either way.
  • Tibor: … ’kay.
  • Sign: Samaris
  • Zach Ilkin: We could use another handyman on our construction site in Spring Street. When can you start?
  • Tibor: Tomorrow.

  1. I have to say I love the artwork in this comic.

  2. BlackDragonSlayer

That glowing cube street sculpture sure is something 😛

    1. I’m pretty sure that’s easter egg from Gaia. Shadowdancers deployed a cube portal during Lilith’s prison break.

      1. BlackDragonSlayer

Could be, but if it were it’d probably have dots on all the cubes, not just the corners.

  3. There are a many people who has a bone to pick with him? The number of reasons to why proposing to Viola couldn’t work just keeps piling up. But as the settings page says, many foxes have their heads in the clouds.

Tibor was also able to easily find work. Most people IRL who find themselves in the situation Tibor was in after Viola preemptively rejected him will have a difficult time finding a job as they have a bad resume. Tibor however could just at any time (prior to the deadline with Marik looming too close) gotten himself out of his situation with relative ease. Well, he appears to have gotten his act together now.

    1. He might not be entirely truthful here – it’s possible those “many people” are just Marik and Viola.

It’s also possible that Marik’s deadline was too short to allow him to travel so far AND find job there, although more likely, he didn’t WANTED to travel because Viola … aaand Samaris might easily be closest place he could hope to find work.

      1. Why would Viola have a bone to pick with him? As for Marik, as long as he gets to keep the money, he has no bone to pick with Tibor. If a guard does take it from him, moving away will not help Tibor, he would have to go completely underground to escape someone like Marik.

    2. For a lot of people out there, finding the motivation to sort their lives out for themselves is hard, doing it for their dependants is much easier. Like many criminals Tibor had a mental model in his head that he was “forced” to do what he was doing in order to justify it. Now that his illusions have been shattered so forcefully we may see some genuine development from our fox.

  4. I was worried he couldn’t find a job anyway, because of the imminent crisis. That would have been sad…
Now I hope he could actually keep the job. And not compromise his health.

    1. In war, finding job tend to be easier, because even if you won’t go to war yourself, people who did are missing on labour market, WHILE the industry needs more workers for making weapons and ammunition. And that’s not even talking about rebuilding stuff destroyed in war.

  5. Sooo, what happened with the war? Did they just accepted they lost several cities and gave up? Is the war going out slowly with long time between any successful action from any side?

    1. They probably know, but can’t do anything about that. I guess that, behind the lines, common people keep trying to live. And produce goods, food, and various stuff.

  6. There seem to be more foxes in this town, I’d be curious to know more about the fox culture, independent of the humans. That is, if there is one.
