Results of the Fanart Contest 2012

After a slow start, I once again received a good number of great entries for the Sandra and Woo and Gaia fanart contest 2012. Since I also wanted to acknowledge clever ideas, I put two pictures on the places 4 and 5 which weren’t drawn as well as some of the other ones.

Fanart contest – Additional time

The entries for the Sandra and Woo and Gaia fanart contest are rolling in. In fact, I received more pictures today than during the first 29 days of April. I’m not sure if I made it clear enough that this isn’t an eBay auction where the last bidder wins ;). Anyway, given this chronological distribution, some contestants might need an additional day to finish their piece. So I will judge all entries that are in my inbox when getting home from work on Wednesday, 18:00 CET, 2 May 2012.

Fanart Contest 2012, with prize money!

One year after the last fanart contest, it’s time for another one! You can use characters from Sandra and Woo and Gaia for your entry.

Unlike most such contests, ours comes with nice prize money for the five winners who I will pick from all contestants:

  • 1. place: $120
  • 2. place: $70
  • 3. place: $50
  • 4. place: $35
  • 5. place: $25

Please send your entry in an e-mail with the subject “Fanart Contest” to novil@gmx.de. You can attach the entry to the e-mail or link to it in the e-mail text body. You must submit your entry before Tuesday, 1 May 2012. I hope one month is enough time for everybody who is interested in entering the contest.

Additional information about the contest:

  • You can submit several drawings (or other types of art), but you can’t win multiple prizes, only the prize for the best entry.
  • You are allowed, even encouraged, to post your entry on other websites.
  • After displaying them in a blog post, all entries will be put into the fanart section of our Artwork page. If you have a website, you should add a link to it in your e-mail.
  • You can sign your work, but a large, ugly watermark will reduce your chance of winning.
  • If your image is drawn digitally it would be convenient if you send it to me in its original size in a lossless format, for example as a PNG file with full color depth. If your image is drawn on paper and then scanned in, you should send me a cleaned-up version of reasonable size in a lossless format. The more detailed the artwork is, the bigger the image size should be. But don’t send anything with more than 25 million pixel (5000 x 5000 pixel).

If you have further questions about the contest, please ask them in the comment section.
